Dolgoch hamlet

Talyllyn Railway
over Dolgoch

Dolgoch (Red Meadow) is hidden away in the southern foothills of the Snowdonia National Park, yet only a few miles from beaches, seaside towns & many attractions.

From here you can stroll along the adjacent stream to Dolgoch Falls, walk through the woods, climb the steep path to the upper falls, or ramble over the hills. On a clear night the moon & stars shine silver against the dark sky, unspoiled by light pollution.

Within easy reach you will find:
* the lakes & mountains of Snowdonia - including nearby Cader Idris &Talyllyn lake.
* walks for all abilities
* mountain biking & cycle routes
* two RSPB bird sanctuaries & the rare Red Kite
* game & sea fishing
* narrow-gauge steam railways including:
Talyllyn, Welshpool & Llanfair,Vale of Rheidol
* ski & activity centres
* beaches, seaside towns & harbours
* ancient castles
* the Centre for Alternative Technology
